By using Christmas Tree Farm Finder ("the site") you agree to these terms. If you disagree with any part, please stop using the site. We keep this document short and readable on purpose; legalese rarely helps either side, and a directory of family farms should read like the farms it lists.

Who these terms apply to

Anyone who loads a page, submits a listing, claims a farm, posts a review, or contacts us falls under these terms for the duration of that activity. Farm owners who claim a listing are also bound by an additional owner agreement presented at the point of claim; where the owner agreement differs from these general terms, the owner agreement controls for that specific matter.

Editorial content and accuracy

Farm information is provided in good faith from public sources and from farm-owner submissions. Hours, species availability, cash-or-card status, and season dates change from year to year, and occasionally from week to week. We make no warranty as to the accuracy, completeness, or availability of any listing at any given moment. Always call the farm ahead of a long drive if a specific detail matters; the phone numbers on the site are the current numbers we have, and the farm is the only source of truth for how things stand today.

We correct errors as soon as we learn of them. If you find an incorrect address, a wrong phone number, or a farm that has closed, please write to us at contact@christmastreefarmfinder.com or use the "Report a correction" link on any farm detail page. Corrections during the season are usually live inside a business day.

User submissions

When you submit a farm listing, a farm review, an event, or any other content, you grant Christmas Tree Farm Finder a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to publish, distribute, adapt, translate, and display your submission on the site and in related marketing materials. You retain ownership of the content; you can request its removal at any time by writing to us.

You agree that anything you submit is either your own work or licensed to you for the purpose of sharing it here. Do not submit copyrighted photographs unless you own the copyright or the photographer has permitted the use. Do not submit farm listings for businesses you do not operate or represent. Do not submit reviews of your own farm from accounts that hide the relationship; disclose the relationship if you are the owner, an employee, or a family member.

Farm claims and owner accounts

Farm owners may claim a listing by verifying ownership through a domain email, a phone confirmation, or a business license. A claimed listing is marked as verified on the site. Owners may edit the hours, tree species, photo gallery, and description of a claimed listing. Owners may not use owner access to solicit reviews from customers, publish promotional material outside the listing itself, or link out to services unrelated to the farm.

Reviews and ratings

Reviews on the site come from two sources; ratings from the public Google Places API (attributed to the original reviewers) and reviews submitted directly by visitors after a farm visit. We do not edit review content; we do remove reviews that violate the rules below. Reviewers may edit or delete their own reviews at any time by signing in to the account that posted the review.

Prohibited conduct

You agree not to use the site to publish defamatory, threatening, or harassing content; not to scrape the directory at industrial volume or in violation of our robots.txt file; not to attempt to bypass access controls or interfere with the availability of the service; not to submit false farm listings or fabricated reviews; and not to use the site to send spam or promotional messages to farm owners. Violations may result in removal of the offending content, closure of the associated account, and, in serious cases, a referral to law enforcement.

Third-party services and links

The site links to third-party services (Google Maps, farm websites, social media, YouTube videos, and others). We are not responsible for the content, availability, privacy practices, or terms of those third-party services. When you follow a link off the site, the destination's terms apply.

Intellectual property

The Christmas Tree Farm Finder name, logo, editorial content, guides, and site design are the property of the operator and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other applicable laws. You may quote short passages of editorial content for non-commercial use with a link back to the source; you may not republish full articles, guides, or directory data without written permission.

Disclaimer of warranties

Christmas Tree Farm Finder is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components; while we take reasonable steps to keep it that way, the internet is imperfect.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Christmas Tree Farm Finder is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the site, from any listed farm, from any product purchased at a listed farm, or from any injury or loss incurred during a visit to a listed farm. If a court finds that limitation unenforceable in your jurisdiction, our aggregate liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the last twelve months (which, for a free directory, is usually zero).

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Christmas Tree Farm Finder from any claim or demand, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising from your use of the site, your violation of these terms, or your infringement of any right of another party.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the site or to a specific account at any time, for any reason, with or without notice. You may stop using the site at any time. Termination does not affect any right or obligation that by its nature is intended to survive (for example, the licenses you granted for submissions).

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and, where applicable, the state in which the operator is domiciled. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in that state. Nothing in this section limits your right to pursue relief in a small claims court where available.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the site evolves. Material changes will be announced with a banner on the home page for at least 30 days before they take effect. Your continued use of the site after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
